About Us

Pre&Peri is a Toronto-based, Indigenous-owned streetwear brand founded in 2021 by Caitlin Wemigwans, a member of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory. The brand features Indigenous-designed motifs inspired by Woodland Art, nature, traditional teachings and dreams.

About the Founder

Caitlin is an Anishinaabe kwe (woman) who grew up in Northern Ontario, Canada with few traditional teachings. Pre&Peri grew from her own experience of reconnecting with her culture and a desire to celebrate the rediscovery of traditions that have been lost to many First Nations.

Why Pre&Peri?

The name Pre&Peri comes from the prefixes pre- and peri-, meaning “before” and “during.” It reflects a brand that brings pre-colonial Indigenous traditions into our current “peri-colonial” everyday lives.
